Mayor’s Cup Competitions

Throughout the season there are four bi-monthly competition rounds which contribute points towards the award of the Mayor’s Cups for prints and digitally projected images (DPIs) to the highest scorer.  Each competition round comprises an Open subject competition and a Set subject competition. The number of competition entries that each photographer is permitted to submit will be communicated separately.

Points will be awarded as follows:

First place: 6 points

Second place: 5 points

Third place: 4 points

Highly Commended: 3 points

Commended: 2 points.

All non-placed entries will receive one point.

Entries which are placed first in any given bi-monthly competition may not be entered again in any future bi-monthly competitions.

The Mayor’s Cup

Prints:
Awarded for the highest score totalled over the season’s monthly print competitions.

Digitally Projected:
Awarded for the highest score totalled over the season’s monthly digitally projected competitions.

Annual Competition

This is held at the end of the season and has three categories: Action; Open and Portrait for Prints and DPIs with trophies awarded in each area.

1. Open Trophy – Prints:
Awarded for the best print in the open category of the annual competition.   

2. Open Trophy – Digitally Projected:
Awarded for the best digitally projected image in the open category of the annual competition.

3. Action Trophy – Prints:
A print competition with a set subject of “Action”.

4. Action Trophy – Digitally Projected:
A digitally projected competition with a set subject of “Action”.

5. Portraits Trophy – President’s Cup – Prints:
A print competition with a set subject of “Portrait”.  This trophy was presented to the club by L. S.  Waugh.

6. Portraits Trophy – Chairman’s Cup – Digitally Projected:
A digitally projected competition with a set subject of “Portrait”. This trophy was presented to the club by Dario Algieri.

A maximum of TWO entries per member per competition are allowed in the above competitions 1 to 6. 

Shield – Best Print in Annual Competition:
Awarded for the best print across all Annual Competitions (Open, Action and Portrait).

Shield – Best Digitally Projected Image in Competition – The Steve Waugh Memorial Shield:
Awarded for the best digitally projected image across all Annual Competitions (Open, Action and Portrait).
