We are a group of around 25 members, bringing together a mix of ages, genders, and abilities. Some of us have years of experience with professional equipment, while others are just starting out with a simple mobile phone camera — but all of us share a passion for photography.
What makes our club special is the variety of perspectives and skills our members bring. From landscapes to portraits, wildlife to street photography, every meeting is an opportunity to learn, share, and be inspired by each other’s creativity.
The Royal Wootton Bassett Camera Club began in August 1980, when a group of local photography enthusiasts came together to share their passion.
Since then, the club has flourished and will celebrate its 45th anniversary in 2025. Over the years, members have taken part in a wide variety of competitions, exhibitions, and community events, while welcoming guest speakers from across the country.
Meetings: We meet at The Angel Hotel, High Street, Royal Wootton Bassett between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm on alternate Tuesdays from September to May.
Competitions: Members take part in regular themed competitions such as Portrait, Sport, Travel, Still Life, and more.
Talks & Workshops: Guest speakers and training sessions cover a wide range of photographic styles.
Outings: We organise photo walks, visits, and special projects around Wiltshire and beyond.
